Howe Sound Arts Association

The Howe Sound Arts Association is a non-profit organization with charitable tax status (1993), which aims to promote, assist, and develop the arts for the Squamish community. Currently, the organization presents a concert series (3-5) events per year, The Festival of Canadian Arts (3rd week Nov), the adjudicated Howe Sound Music Festival and the Annual Star Search competition. 

Soul Funktion Dance Studio
New dance studio specializing in ballet (rad), tap (classical & funk), jazz, hip-hop, musical theatre, break dancing, ballroom, salsa, bhangra. Starting in September 2004, the studio will offer classes at all levels for all ages including adult only classes and boyz only classes.
Location: Unit 8 - 1005 Alpha Lake Road in Function Junction behind Home Hardware.

The Vicious Circle, as Whistler Writers Group is known, was founded in 2001, to provide a forum for local writers to develop their craft by connecting with other professional writers in our community for discussion and critiquing of an individual writer's work. Whistler Film Festival Society (WFFS) is a charitable, not-for-profit cultural and educational organization committed to celebrating, promoting and developing a strong film industry in Western Canada, and to showcasing the best films from Canada and around the world. The 2007 Whistler Film Festival presented a four-day program of 92 films (37 features and mid-lengths and 55 shorts) including four world premieres, two Canadian premieres and twenty British Columbia premieres. The Festival awarded over $42,000 in prizes and commissions and attracted a record number of over 7,000 attendees to festival. The 2008 Whistler Film Festival presented by American Express will take place December 4 to 7, 2008.

Whistler Singers
The Whistler Singers is a community choir which meets weekly on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Millennium Place. The season usually runs from September to April with occasional Summer events. Music from different periods and various genres is rehearsed and performances are given anywhere from five to ten times throughout the year.Anyone wishing further information should contact Candice at 604-932-3022.

The Sparkle Choir (grades 1-3) rehearses Wednesday 12:30 - 12:55 at Signal Hill Elementary School music room. The Pembertunes (grades 4-7) rehearse Tuesday 3:30 - 5:00 pm, St. David's United Church in Pemberton. For info call Helen Pearson 604 894 1520
